Steps to Wellness

Posted in Wellness at 11:44 pm by Administrator

Happy New year everyone!
Recently, a young woman asked me for some advice on health. She heard my story of how God healed me from an auto-immne disorder. After we talked, I realized that many people have health issues and they don’t know what to do about them. So, I am going to be sharing “Steps to Wellness” here on my blog. This advice is not to take the place of your physician. This is my testimony of health principles I have followed that I truly believe are good for the body.

1st Step: Prayer
Prayer is essential to health. Why? Because it truly relieves stress. If there is anything you are struggling with in your life, prayer can give you peace. When I got sick, this was the first thing I did. I prayed constantly every day. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says “pray without ceasing”
So today, take that first step and pray. Whatever it is, God is listening!

Mt Rubidoux Church

Posted in Uncategorized at 11:19 pm by Administrator

Yesterday I had the privilege to sing for the Mt. Rubidoux Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Before I even got up to sing, I was so blessed by the worship time. When I went onstage, the response from the audience was overwhelming. I felt truly blessed to be there and to share my testimony. Afterwards, I met many people who shared their personal struggles with sickness. I hope and pray that somehow I was able to encourage them. All of this was a reminder that God can use us to help others. Even if you get discouraged sometimes, or you begin to loose faith, the Lord will bring someone your way to encourage you. So thank you Mt. Rubidoux Church and thank you Lord for all of your bountiful blessings.

In Christ,

Forgiveness

Posted in Uncategorized at 11:12 pm by Administrator

True forgiveness is a way to happiness. I know it’s so hard when someone lies on you and hurts you. Forgiving them is really hard. Especially when they never apologize to you. I think this is something most of us struggle with. How can you forgive someone who was mean, dishonest, or accused you of things you didn’t do or say? What I have learned is that we are all human and sinful. The only perfect person is Jesus. He is the only one who will never hurt you. That being said, when people hurt you, you must pray and forgive them. Until we are all perfected with the character of Christ, we will continue to hurt one another. When Jesus was asked how many time to forgive, he said 70×7. That means over and over and over again.

“Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.” Matthew 18:22

I pray that we all will learn to forgive even those who have hurt us the most by the power of the holy spirit. Be blessed!

Mommyhood

Posted in Parenthood at 9:46 pm by Administrator

Wow, this is my first blog. I am excited, so let me begin.

Being a mommy is such a blessing. Everyday my son teaches me new lessons about God and life. I truly believe that God gives us children for a reason. We need them to learn patience, self-denial, and true love. I give props to all the mothers in the world. I must admit that some days are hard and some days are less hard, lol! But each day is a blessing because I have this amazing opportunity to raise a person. Having a child has also shown me more about God’s love. My song writing is has become more heartfelt than before. I see the world through new eyes. Anyway, I just want to encourage all the parents out there who are doing all they can to raise their children. Enjoy each day, even the hard days!

Blessings,

Athena
